Enjoying and learning every day in protein research in Zaragoza
We gather diverse academic trainings, which make us quite a versatile group. While our expertises change from time to time, we often combine web lab experiments with biocomputation to solve specific problems using a variety of techniques. We work both in individual projects and in collaborative projects involving several members of the group and/or external collaborators worldwide.
Zaragoza provides a pleasant atmosphere to visitors and residents alike and has many things to discover and very friendly people to enjoy them with. Most of the time, our group enjoys an international composition which enriches us greatly.

Juan José Galano Frutos
Post-doc researcherI am a post-doc researcher expert in Structural Bioinformatics and Computational Drug Desing. My main "bussines" in research are all-atom molecular dynamics simulations, molecular docking, QSAR, proteomic bioinformatics, protein thermodynamics, statistics and some protein biophysics.
Patricia Bruñén
PhD studentI am a full time PhD student, a chemist in project to be something else in the biochemical world.
Organic synthesis is my biggest daily challenge.
Passionated about basketball or any sport that is proposed to me.
Extremely restless girl with many hobbies. My leisure time is always busy, and I love it!
Ritwik Maity
PhD studentI am an Early Stage Researcher. Mostly I am focused on the development of novel personalized drugs for infectious and conformational diseases. Currently, I am working on a multi-omics-based pipeline for rapid and precise antimicrobial drug development.
Helena García
PhD studentI am a PhD student in the field of Structural Bioinformatics, specializing in Molecular Dynamics analysis and stability prediction upon mutation using relaxation Molecular Dynamics, databases, metaprediction, sequence homology and structural analysis. Activist for diversity in STEM. Out of the lab, also an amateur actress, musician and singer.
Alfonso López
IT specialistI feel a bit like a Swiss Army knife. I have enjoyed to work on projects that span many aspects of computer science. I am comfortable with web and application development, without forgetting the graphic design part. I also like new ways of interaction with computers like VR/AR. And when I am not absorbed with a computer I like to disconnect in nature.
